The Devil, Lucifer, is dying and desperately in need of a successor, but there’s been a mistake and Philip is the wrong boy. Philip is terrible at being bad, but Lucifer has no other choice than to begin the difficult task of training him in the ways of evil. Philip gets both friends and enemies in this odd, gloomy underworld—but who can he trust, when he discovers an evil-minded plot against the dark throne?

Review

This book’s first chapter was short but man it pulled me in. Philip is the “Condemned” of the week…meaning he is the chosen kid to be the week’s victim of Sam’s violence and bullying. Luckily someone came to his rescue before things fell too far out of hand. From the feeling of the ending of that chapter, it won’t be for long. Sam was caught again is angry. I think he will come back with a vengeance.

The writing style showed urgency and I could almost taste Philip’s fear. I might or might not have continued reading…this is one book that is hard to stop at just one chapter, especially since the chapter was so small.

Well…what are you waiting for? Grab the book and get reading!
