Devouring Dark Book Birthday!!

Devouring Dark Book Birthday!!

Happy Tuesday everyone. As you all know, I will not be doing many reviews this month because I am cutting back on reading time to write for NaNoWriMo! Let me tell you though that NaNoWriMo is incredibly fun. If you have ever thought about writing your own book…do it! You have no obligation to publish once you finish, but it sure helps get your story out.

If you all read my latest Saturday Spotlight post then you know all about Alan Baxter and that today is the release day of his newest novel Devouring Dark! I wanted to do something special for today since his guest post was a few days early of the release. So…I am going to tell you a little about the book itself, almost like a small promo post! Please check this great horror novel out and let me know what you think. It is on my TBR for next month because this one is filled with writing.

DEVOURING DARK is an urban horror novel about a man plagued since childhood by a malevolent darkness that threatens to consume him. After a lifetime spent wrestling for control over this onslaught, Matt McLeod has learned to wield his mysterious paranormal skill to achieve an odious goal: retribution as a supernatural vigilante.

When one such hit goes bad, McLeod finds himself ensnared in a multi-tentacled criminal enterprise caught between a corrupt cop and a brutal mobster. His only promise of salvation may be a bewitching woman who shares his dark talent but has murderous designs of her own.

The gritty thriller DEVOURING DARK is based on Baxter’s award-winning short story “Shadows of the Lonely Dead” and will be available worldwide on November 6, 2018.

I know you want to read more now. Well, do I have a special treat!! I was going to post an excerpt until I found something better. You can read the entire first chapter HERE!! For free…how much better could this get? Well, since this book is now available for purchase you could just buy it or head over to a local library and request it there as well.

I will ask one favor though. When you do get a chance to read this, be sure to head over to any online retailer as well as Goodreads and leave a review. Even if it is only a few sentences, it means a lot more than that to the author. I will be reviewing this after #NaNoWriMo is over. Right now…I must write!

What horror novels have you read recently that were interesting? Have you read any of Alan’s books? If so, link your reviews below, I would love to see them.
