Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday

Hello again everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was filled with moving boxes from our townhouse into storage until I find time to go through them little by little. I am helping my in-laws go through their things and then we are moving some things here, making a playroom for the kids in the basement. I have finished proofreading the first third of a novel for a very special author. I have gotten a few days behind on beta reading, I really need to get caught up on that. So, simply put, I have been super busy! If I am not spending time with my kids I am cleaning, doing something for my blog, reading, etc. I am always busy with something. What did you all do this weekend? I hope that you were able to relax or do something fun!

My younger son turned two today! They grow so fast. If you are a fellow parent, then you know you can blink and it seems they are a year older. I love my boys, they are incredibly smart and I love watching them grow into being their own person.

Well, it is Monday and I know why you are all really here…Goodreads Monday! So…less about parent life and more about books! This weekly event is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. To take part, simply choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR (To Be Read) list and show it off.

Now onto the good part, yet another book from my Goodreads to read shelf…which is always growing larger with each Goodreads Monday post that I read. I am serious, every Monday my TBR list grows by about 5 books. Why are there so many great books and so little reading time?

Seventh Born (The Witchling Academy #1)

Abomination. Curse. Murderer. All names hurled at eighteen-year-old Seraphina Dovetail. As the seventh-born daughter to a witch, she’s the cause of her mother losing her powers and, in turn, her life.

Abandoned as a child, Sera dreams of becoming an inspector and finding her family. To do that, she must be referred into the Advanced Studies Program at the Aetherium’s Witchling Academy. Her birth order, quick temper, and tendency to set things on fire, however, have left her an outcast with failing marks…and just what Professor Nikolai Barrington is looking for.

The tall, brooding, yet exceedingly handsome young professor makes her a proposition: become his assistant and he’ll give her the referral she needs. Sera is quickly thrust into a world where witches are being kidnapped, bodies are raised from the dead, and someone is burning seventhborns alive. As Sera and Barrington grow ever closer, she’ll discover that some secrets are best left buried…and fire isn’t the only thing that makes a witch burn.

I was contacted about this book after reviewing a different one. It did sound interesting so, I clicked the link and now here we are. It sits on my NetGalley shelf…waiting its turn to come before my hungry eyes…

I cannot wait to sink my literary fangs into this novel!

Is this a book that you might enjoy if you have not read it? Do you enjoy paranormal romance novels? What are some books on your Goodreads to-read list? Do you find yourself adding many more to your TBR list on Goodreads Monday?

I am not a huge fan of paranormal romance novels. I wish it was not such a busy weekend of moving so we could of had more time celebrating the little ones birthday and of course reading more. I need to get back into jumping into the magical realms that are books!
Thank you for your post and enjoy your beta read.
