Witchy Wednesday

Witchy Wednesday

Happy mid-week everyone! Welcome back to Witchy Wednesday, the day of the week where I openly talk about anything witchy. Well…I’ve started doing that on any day now but this is strictly a witchy post day. The first thing one does when they chose this path is research. We dive into anything and everything we can find about the subject. This is where a book such as the one I’m reviewing today comes in handy.

I have been crazy busy getting our store set up. Before you know it, our metaphysical store will be open. We’ll continue to do online Facebook sales. Once the store is all set up I’ll finally have more time to read and write blog posts. I’ve put my book on the back burner for now, I really need to nail down the details such as setting. I have to describe the prison properly and the characters. So…I started a sims 4 game so I can actually create my characters and possibly build the prison island. This can help me to really visualize what I am writing about. I am so thankful to have a wonderful editor who understands and is so willing to work with me. He is amazing and I can’t thank him enough.

Now that I’ve ranted long enough about my life, how about getting to why we are all really here?

Today I am talking about Sigil Witchery. Sigils are drawings or symbols used in magick. They can hold incredible power if you put the right intentions into them.

I’ve always felt drawn to sigils but never knew where to start. I could look them up online but they never really felt like mine, if that makes senes. This book changed that!

This amazing book talks first about the history of mark-making and how societies have used signs and symbols for centuries. I love that I can learn a bit about the history behind the craft prior to diving into it myself. It makes me feel more connected in a way. The basic shapes are amazing for beginners such as myself. It goes through a large variety of markings that can all be combined to make your very own sigil. We learn that numbers, letters, and colors all hold meaning.

Once we learn about the basics, the book gives a wide range of examples and ways to write or draw them. I know this will be a well-loved book. It holds so much information and is perfect for any beginner wanting to venture into creating sigils. Sigils are a way to enhance your magick. Pick up this book and get creating! With this in your reference arsenal, there is nothing stopping you.
