Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday

Welcome back to Goodreads Monday! How was your weekend?! Mine was good, we had a sale all three days for our crystal business. Since we are leaving to attend a gem show the 24th to stock up on inventory, we are pushing out some old items. The sale went really well. Today we are looking at a building with offices to use as a warehouse space.

Bad news…my youngest spiked a high fever. Good news, he is feeling much better. But…more bad news, my older son spiked a fever now and I have a sore throat! I am increasing the amount of homemade elderberry syrup I take to fight this and cut the life of the cold in half. Hopefully, this doesn’t get worse because, as many of you busy moms know, things are awful when we get sick. Besides that, I have a trip to go and buy for our business! I can’t get sick.

More good news, I can read lots of books on the trip! I wonder how many I’ll be able to read this time. I am excited to get a lot of good inventory and great reading time in! No kids means that I have uninterrupted reading! The feeling will be so foreign.

A portal closed for 2,000 years.
An ancient religion twisted by modern greed.
A love that crosses the centuries.
An ancient druid pendant shows archaeologist Janet visions of Roman soldier Trajan. The visions are of danger, death, and love – are they a promise or a curse?
Her fiancé Daman hurts and abandons her before the wedding, her beloved museum is ransacked, and a robed man vanishes before her eyes. Haunted by visions of a time she knows long gone, Janet teeters on the edge of a breakdown.
In the shadow of Hadrian’s Wall and 2,000 years back in time, Janet’s past and present collide. Daman has vowed to drive the invaders from the shores of Britain, and march his barbarian hordes to Rome. Trajan swears vengeance against the man who threatens both his loves – Janet and the Empire.
Time is running out – for everyone.

I’ve always felt drawn to the story of druids. Now bringing it to me in a fantasy tale…I’m sold. I really like how this story links the past and present. Books that blend those ideas really well usually give the reader a feeling of confusion, unsure of how to tell reality from what they are imagining. I actually enjoy those stories because those are the ones that keep me on my toes.

This is free on kindle unlimited so grab it while you can. If you don’t have that, run and grab it quick. It sounds like a great read!

What are some books that are on your list on Goodreads? I’d love to know!
