Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was crazy busy. You all know I’m a pagan witch. Well, a member of the big pagan family I’ve become a part of has been diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer and has no health insurance to help her. Aside from that, she has a special needs daughter. Life is so cruel at times. The founder of this group and I got together and decided to create an amazing event! We called it Slashers Yule Market. We auctioned off witchy items that were donated and we sold some crystals from our business. My business will be donating a percentage of the proceeds and all of the auction item proceeds will be donated as well.

The amount of support we have pulled together for her is amazing! I am truly proud to be a part of such an amazing community. Aside from that…things have been good. We now have a ton of work ahead of us invoicing and packaging. I am so happy to be able to help this beautiful woman though. It truly warms my heart to see so many people come together to help her and her family.

My boys are doing well. They’ve each picked a gift for the other. That was a tradition my dad always kept with me and my sister. We would each get to pick a gift for the other, within a reasonable price of course. I allow each of the boys to spend $25 on the other. I also making a few Yule gifts for people. Homemade gifts are the best!

Now, on to the book for this Goodreads Monday post! Today I picked a book Today’s book is actually one that I am signed on a tour for. I am really excited about this book so I had to share it with you!

You are alone in the woods, seen only by the unblinking yellow moon. Your hands are empty. You are nearly naked.
And the wolf is angry.

Since her grandmother became her caretaker when she was four years old, Bisou Martel has lived a quiet life in a little house in Seattle. She’s kept mostly to herself. She’s been good. But then comes the night of homecoming, when she finds herself running for her life over roots and between trees, a fury of claws and teeth behind her. A wolf attacks. Bisou fights back. A new moon rises. And with it, questions. About the blood in Bisou’s past and on her hands as she stumbles home. About broken boys and vicious wolves. About girls lost in the woods—frightened, but not alone.
Elana K. Arnold, National Book Award finalist and author of the Printz Honor book Damsel, returns with a dark, engrossing, blood-drenched tale of the familiar threats to female power—and one girl’s journey to regain it.

I know you have probably heard me say this before…I love retellings! This one sounds so good, doesn’t it?! I am participating in the blog tour and can’t wait to get my hands on that book!

What is your favorite retelling? Is there one you want to really read but haven’t had the chance to yet?
