Goodreads Monday

It has been a long time since I did one of these. I thought it might be the perfect type of post to get me back into blogging more regularly. What do you think? Do you enjoy these posts? I love them because I can share a new book that I’d love to read. Granted, it might bake you add to your TBR list but hey…who doesn’t have a neverending TBR…?

I celebrated Mabon with my family and a couple great friends by having a wonderful feast. It was really nice just relaxing and spending time with those who mean the most to me. These two friends that came over are so special, amazing people to begin with but great supports for my witchy path. They too follow a pagan path. One is a Druid and the other a witch (I think). Ugh…have you ever just found people that make you happy? The ones who you know you can talk to…that is who these two are to me. They are so kind, I’m blessed to have them.

Our chickens are laying eggs! My boys now love checking for eggs, the older one still hates feeding them and things but he rushes in to find the eggs before his brother does…brotherly love right? Liam is back in school, third grade! Kids grow so fast, take advantage of every moment. Laugh with them, roll around in the dirt and get dirty…have fun. Family is the most important thing to me and those boys are my life. Remember that it is the small things in life we remember most, that is when we make the best memories. Anyway…

Back to books…It is so easy to let your TBR get out of hand, I think I need to start a down the TBR hole series soon to get mine in order. I might have to look into doing that soon. Well…let’s add to your TBR list!!!!

It is the world of the near future, and Offred is a Handmaid in the home of the Commander and his wife. She is allowed out once a day to the food market, she is not permitted to read, and she is hoping the Commander makes her pregnant, because she is only valued if her ovaries are viable. Offred can remember the years before, when she was an independent woman, had a job of her own, a husband and child. But all of that is gone now … everything has changed.

First things first…this is available on Kindle Unlimited so…get reading people! Anyway…how have I not read this classic tale?!?! I feel as if I have been depriving myself. We read many classic tales when I was in school yet this was not one of them. I guess this is now on my list! Even my mom’s boyfriend was reading it the last time they came to visit…I didn’t even know he liked to read.

Have you read this world-renowned tale? If so, what did you think? Let me know below, I’d love to know.
