Freebie Friday

Freebie Friday

Friday is here and you all know that means a new free book! This week was very productive at our house. We tilled both gardens and planted some. In one we planted cantaloupe, three types of watermelon, and many types of pumpkins. My in-laws used to have a fall harvest party for the family each year. We would all come and chat, eat, and pick pumpkins. This year we are finally doing it again. Liam, my older son, is excited because we even planted a few giant pumpkin seeds. We also planted some cucumbers, snap peas, and dill in the other garden. We have a lot more to plant but it rained so we had to hold off. Do you do any gardening?

I also took my younger son to see Thomas the Train over the weekend. He had a lot of fun and even thanked Thomas for the ride when we departed the train. As the weather warms, we are slowly spending more and more time outside for which I am thankful for. It is refreshing to see my boys get dirty and run around outside rather than sit in front of a TV or video game screen. That is how I grew up, outside all the time…even in the rain at times. I don’t want them to miss the beauty of nature because they are too caught up in a vegetative state in front of a screen. They are kids…they should be outside exploring and running around.

For today’s Freebie Friday I am taking a suggestion from a follower. They wanted to see a romantic comedy so I will be showing some over the next few weeks. Remember if you’d like a specific genre of free book, let me know! I will find something in the genre you prefer to read in. This series on my blog is to help those who read on a budget. If you are that person be sure to check out my post about reading on a budget.

The Atlantis Grail has been optioned for development as a feature film series and/or TV series.
You have two options. You die, or you Qualify.
The year is 2047. An extinction-level asteroid is hurtling toward Earth, and the descendants of ancient Atlantis have returned from the stars in their silver ships to offer humanity help.
But there’s a catch.
They can only take a tiny percent of the Earth’s population back to the colony planet Atlantis. And in order to be chosen, you must be a teen, you must be bright, talented, and athletic, and you must Qualify.
Sixteen-year-old Gwenevere Lark is determined not only to Qualify but to rescue her entire family.
Because there’s a loophole.
If you are good enough to Qualify, you are eligible to compete in the brutal games of the Atlantis Grail, which grants all winners the laurels, high tech luxuries, and full privileges of Atlantis Citizenship. And if you are in the Top Ten, then all your wildest wishes are granted… Such as curing your mother’s cancer.
There is only one problem.
Gwen Lark is known as a klutz and a nerd. While she’s a hotshot in classics, history, science, and languages, the closest she’s come to sports is a backyard pool and a skateboard.
This time she is in over her head, and in for a fight of her life, against impossible odds and world-class competition—including Logan Sangre, the most amazing guy in her class, the one she’s been crushing on, and who doesn’t seem to know she exists.
Because every other teen on Earth has the same idea.
You Qualify or you die.

Who here has not watched Atlantis as a child, or at least heard the tale? That’s what I thought…most people have. The thought of a lost world is fascinating. Bringing that aspect into an entirely new story, one that brings in a hunger games aspect? This sounds like a great spin from an old tale. I hope that you all think the same?

We are all in for a treat with this novel! And it’s free so don’t miss this chance to read a new book at no cost to you. If you don’t own a Kindle you can always download the free Kindle app on any phone or computer.
