January 2019 Monthly Wrap-up

January 2019 Monthly Wrap-up

Wow, what a start to the year! I have been pretty consistent about commenting on other blogs every day and I have continued to be more active on social media. Although, I need to continue being active in Instagram, I should really make a day to take multiple pictures.

Let’s take another look at my resolutions or goals for reading/blogging this year.

New Year Resolutions

  • Focus on promoting my freelance proofreading business (I pinned a post about my proofreading on Twitter)
  • Finish writing The First Sieren (Yea…I have not touched this since NaNo…I really need to make time for it!)
  • Read 100 books in 2019
    • I was so close in 2018 but I was thrown off by such a busy schedule. I hope this year is a little more organized.
  • Read more Indie/Self-Published books
    • I would love to continue to support smaller authors and what better way than to read and review their books
  • Reach out and become more active in the book blogging community (I have been working on this!)
  • Reach 500 blog followers (I am at 310)

So far, I think I have been doing a good job working toward these. I’m actually working with my seven year old son to do a mother and son review section on my blog. He is really excited about this and so am I!

I have been so busy this month but I managed to read a whopping 10 books! That seems crazy but I have read a few audiobooks so that helped me bump up that number. I finally gave them a good chance and I actually love them! I listen to an audibook whenever I have some time but no free hands. Now for example, as I write this I am listening to Cress by Marissa Meyer.

I also held my first ever readathon this month! During one of the storms we were supposed to get hit with, I held a 24 hour readathon. I managed to read three full books! I was so impressed and it was a lot of fun. I used the hashtag #bibliophagist24read. I think this might be something I try more often! What do you think? Do you participate in readathons?

Before we get too carried away talking about everything that has happened this month, let’s have a look at what I managed to read this month.

Thank you! I really enjoyed Anna Undreaming, glad I finally was able to get to it. I still have a decent stack to get to though…
