Welcome back to Would You Rather Wednesday! I am not sure this is an actual thing yet, but I am going to make it one…because I can. First I want to mention that I got the idea from Krystyna (Turning the Pages) and her weekly bookish meme challenge. I took part in her post last week, but Wednesdays work better for my blogging schedule, so I created my own weekly challenge meme. I hope that you all enjoy it!

Drop the collector’s edition of your favorite book into a muddy puddle or watch it fall into a running wood chipper
The thought of any damage coming to any of my books is awful, let alone a collector’s edition. These choices are both terrifying. Thinking of choosing either of these options makes my little heart hurt…
I suppose that if I must choose one, I would choose to drop my book into a muddy puddle. After going through a wood chipper, there would essentially be tiny pieces left, nothing I could read. If It was dropped into a muddy puddle it would have water damage, but I would still be able to read it if I choose to. Although…I would relive the pain and sadness of the accident every time I looked at or held the book.
What do you think…which would you choose?
Since it’s a collector’s item, I vote for the running wood chipper. If it falls into mud it’s ruined anyways. Sure you can read it, but the value of book has been destroyed. I would replace it either-way. The wood chipper just makes that purchase more valid. This time though buy a cheap paperback version, in addition to the collectors edition and leave the expensive one at home.
Thats so true!! I never thought about it in value terms. I second buying a cheap copy if accident prone.
