NaNoWriMo Updates: Winner’s Prizes

NaNoWriMo Updates: Winner’s Prizes

As you all know, I am a NaNoWriMo winner! I promise after this post, you will not hear much more about it. If you also participated in NaNoWriMo and won…Congrats! You are awesome. Even if you didn’t win, you still worked hard and that deserves acknowledgment.

Now, NaNoWriMo is challenging yourself, but as with any contest, there are prizes if you win! Today I am going to tell you about the prizes available to those who hit that 50K word count goal.

My Thoughts

Some of these do not really interest me where others I am super excited about. First, I would like to mention that you can always buy some great NaNoWriMo gear from their website here. You can buy a NaNoWriMo winner’s shirt or some other awesome gear to show off your amazing NaNoWriMo skills. I think I might buy the NaNoWriMo 2018 winner’s t-shirt.

I would also like to thank all of the amazing sponsors. To see the entire list of wonderful sponsors, click here. Many of these are offering discounts for NaNoWriMo participants who did not quite make their 50K word count but still worked hard and put in a good effort.

Ok…so, onto what I think about these prizes and what I might choose to buy. First, I think I will look into Scrivener and Scapple. I have heard some great things and would love to try it out. From what I have heard, Scrivener can format your book for you once you are done writing it very easily. It seems like an overall wonderful writing tool that I would enjoy learning to use.

Secondly, I am obsessed with the idea of 4TheWords. I could not stop telling my husband about how cool that was. A game where I can play and have to write to defeat monsters…that is one heck of a way to get me motivated to write.

I might look into something like RescueTime but I am not sure yet. The online classes…I will look into them but probably not use any.

What prizes are you claiming? Let me know in the comments below. I would love to discuss any of these if you already use them.

Congrats on your win! I thought a few of these things were interesting, but I didn’t end up using any of the winner goodies this time. I might try out Scrivener when I start to plot my next book, though.
