Freebie Friday

Welcome back to Freebie Friday! I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday. If you live in a place similar to mine, be sure to stay warm as this cold white stuff covers the ground. I don’t mind the snow…I just don’t like the ice and slush, oh and the cold that comes along with it. I also despise hearing people coughing and sneezing…Ugh. It sends chills down my spine. I would rather be cold than hot though…you can always add more layers but can only take off so many.

Ebooks, aside from being cheap or free have some other advantages, find some pros and cons here. Today I hope to bring you a novel that you might take a chance on. These books will be free at the time of my post, but because I am unable to see the future, I cannot promise these will stay that way. So, if you like them purchase them as soon as you can.

Anna is a 12 year old girl growing up in a Saxon village in 7th century Mercia. Her life changes when she finds a golden horn in the ruins of a Roman Villa. Soon an ugly dwarf, a beautiful sorceress and even her own people are after her.

What powers does the horn have and why does everyone want it?

And why is Anna the only one who can get a note out of it?

About Shield Maiden
Shield Maiden is the first book in The Nine Worlds series in which the historical world of Anglo-Saxon England meets the mysterious world of myths and legends, gods and monsters our ancestors believed in.

This is the world as it might have been had those stories been true…

I am a sucker for fantasy books, especially those that involve monsters and historic legends. This novel seemed interesting and who knows, it might be fantastic. I am more curious about what the note says and why this 12-year-old was the only one able to open the gold horn to retrieve it.
