Questions I was asked

1) How long have you been blogging about books?

I began book blogging about a year ago but switched to self-hosting this past summer. I never knew that I could post my thoughts on books and people would actually read them, let alone enjoy them. I love the community most, I have made so many great bookish friends.

2) How many books on average do you read in a month?

This is hard, it really depends on what I have going on. I would say on average I read anywhere between 4-8 books if it has been typical.

3) How many days a week do you upload a blog post?

I try to be consistent. At the moment, I now post 5 days a week…which is a lot. I might think about reducing this, but honestly, some of my posts are super simple memes that many bloggers take part in.

4) How many books are on your Goodreads TBR? And if you don’t use Goodreads, how come?

My Goodreads TBR list is not accurate because I do not add all the books to it…psst I will admit I can be lazy about it. Now that I learned about the scanning feature on the app though…all bets are off. My TBR will grow exponentially. As of right now, I have 318 books on there….wow that is a lot. I add some for giveaway entry purposes as well. I suppose I could do a down the TBR hole soon huh? Would you be interested in seeing that?

5) What’s the last book you read that you absolutely loved?

This would have to be This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada! I cannot gush enough about this novel. As a biology nerd I was super happy witht he technical aspects of the book.

6) What’s the last book you read that you absolutely hated?

This is hard for me because I try to avoid books that I do not think I’ll enjoy. I really cannot think of a book I absolutely hated.

7) What book do you wish would be turned into a movie or TV show?

There are so many but the first one that comes to mind is The City of Dreaming Books by Walter Moers. I think every book lover should read this! You will all love it. I would also love to see This Mortal Coil!!!!

8) What is the last book that you bought at a bookstore?

Are we talking online bookstore or physical bookstore?

The last book I bought online was This Mortal Coil from Waterstone because I really wanted the special sprayed edges. I loved that they show the double helix pattern…I am a biology nerd.

The last book I purchased at a physical bookstore would have to be Children of Blood and Bone which I have been dying to read but found no time to squeeze it in yet.

9) Do you prefer paperback or hardcover? Or do you just read whatever?

I prefer hardback but I read both. Paperback is susceptible to bent covers, those pesky ones that never lay flat again. And I also avoid paperbacks because I hate broken spines. You all got me…I have OCD and enjoy my books in pristine condition. But let me tell you a secret, I buy used books that are damaged too. I just love books and want to give them a nice home, on my shelves.

10) Do you watch booktubers? If yes, who are your favorites? If no, how come?

I have but it is not a regular occurrence. This is merely something that takes time I do not have a lot of. As a mother of two boys, wife, proofreader, beginning editor, beta reader, and book blogger…I have very little spare time. I do like to listen to them discuss books while I write reviews sometimes. Unfortunately, more often than not if youtube is open I end up getting distracted by Kpop music videos and then before I know it, I spend 4 hours listening to them as I dance in my computer chair, getting nothing done. Yes…I might have a problem but I am ok with that.

11) If you could be any character, who would it be and why?

This is so hard. I really do not know how to answer this. If we are saying from a recent book I have read, I would have to say Catarina from This Mortal Coil. She is incredibly intelligent and strong. I love that she has the courage to risk her life to save humanity. She really is incredible. But my first choice would be Belle, obviously. Because I basically am her…I am already married to a beast. (Made myself laugh so much with that). But really, I want my own west wing…
