Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday

Hello again everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Did you do anything exciting? I am preparing for my older son to head back to school in a few weeks. He is going into second grade…what happened to my little boy? I think the myth about blinking might be true. Wait, you’ve never heard about this? Well…as legend has it, the more a mother blinks while staring lovingly at her children, the faster they grow up. I never thought it possible but…my younger son will be two in September! How the heck has time passed so fast. All of you parents know what I am talking about.

Well, it is Monday and I know why you are all really here…Goodreads Monday! So…less about parent life and more about books! This weekly event is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. To take part, simply choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR (To Be Read) list and show it off.

Now onto the good part, yet another book from my Goodreads to read shelf…which is always growing larger with each Goodreads Monday post that I read. I am serious, every Monday my TBR list grows by about 5 books. Why are there so many great books and so little reading time?

Spores

Spores  Spores

Author: Ike Hamill

Published: August 8th, 2018

Book Length: 258 Pages

Genre: Thriller

Buy the Book: Amazon

Every hunter has a story of an expedition gone wrong. Every person who has held a gun has imagined what it would be like to point that barrel at another human being. Some decisions come down to survival. Other decisions are made for us. They’re implanted into a person’s brain from somewhere out there, in the unknown.

Marie never intended to bring along her passengers. She would have never agreed to it, had she known what would happen. Now she’s lost and her only help will come from the hunters … and the Spores.

The four men are out on a simple hunting trip. It’s supposed to be a chance to unwind and get away from all the stress of work and family. But when Andrew looks through the scope and sees what’s running at him, he acts decisively. Back at the cabin, Leonard and Patrice have their own problem. They hear the sound of the snowmobile and rush to the window. They look out in time to see the machine streaking across the lake, and then it’s gone.

They have to cut short their trip and report what they’ve seen. Everyone agrees. Then, Marie arrives.

Upon first reading this, can anyone guess what movie came to my mind?!?!

If you guess The Thing, then you would be correct and we should be friends if you like that movie. I really enjoyed it as a kid and still do! I am unsure why exactly this brought up my thoughts of The Thing, but I thought of it right away.

When I read this book description I knew I had to add it to my enormous TBR list! I think my TBR list is like Hermione’s purse…bottomless and never-ending. For every book I read, it seems I add five more. This is one that I know I have to get my hands on. Below is actual footage of me preparing to read this novel when I find a copy…

Ok, not exactly. I do not have facial hair, nor am I a male. But you all get the point. Thank you all for joining me for another Goodreads Monday. I do enjoy reading about new novels I never would have found otherwise, though my TBR list does not like it.

Is this a book that you might enjoy if you have not read it? Do you enjoy thriller or horror novels? What are some books on your Goodreads to-read list? Do you find yourself adding many more to your TBR list on Goodreads Monday, I know I do.
