Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend, I know I did. I was able to swim and spend time with my boys. What more could I ask for? Oh, I also talked my husband into being a contributor on my blog! He will be writing reviews or other posts as he sees fit. I, of course, will review them before they see your eyes…but yes I am excited. His posts will be a blog series titled Words from a Foxhole. This title was inspired from his time in the military. I am beyond lucky to be married to someone who is so supportive of my passion for books. I mean seriously…what other book blogger’s husband do you know that will go out of his way to not only support them but become a contributor to their blog?! So, that being said, be sure to watch for his contributions. I laughed when he said he was going to help…with my luck, his posts will outshine mine and gain more popularity…you know being a grunt and all.

I have still not been reading much this month…ugh. I am always so busy with the kids or helping my in-laws with something. I need a readction. A vacation full of reading and relaxation. One where when I pick up a book I am not interrupted by the shrill cries of my kids “Mommy! Mommy! Look at this…” I love my boys more than the world itself, but I would love to read in peace. I really just need to read more. I crave adventure!

Well, it is Monday and I know why you are all really here…Goodreads Monday! This weekly event is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. To take part, simply choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR (To Be Read) list and show it off.

Now onto the good part, yet another book from my Goodreads to read shelf…which is always growing larger with each Goodreads Monday post that I read. I am serious, every Monday my TBR list grows by about 5 books. Why are there so many great books and so little reading time?

Zafira is the Hunter, disguising herself as a man when she braves the cursed forest of the Arz to feed her people. Nasir is the Prince of Death, assassinating those foolish enough to defy his autocratic father, the king. If Zafira was exposed as a girl, all of her achievements would be rejected; if Nasir displayed his compassion, his father would punish him in the most brutal of ways.

Both are legends in the kingdom of Arawiya—but neither wants to be.

War is brewing in Arawiya, and the Arz sweeps closer with each passing day, engulfing the land in shadow. When Zafira embarks on a quest to uncover a lost artifact that can restore magic to her suffering world and stop the Arz, Nasir is sent by the king on a similar mission: retrieve the artifact and kill the Hunter. But an ancient evil stirs as their journey unfolds—and the prize they seek may pose a threat greater than either can imagine.

Set in a richly detailed world inspired by ancient Arabia, WE HUNT THE FLAME is a gripping story of discovery, conquering fear, and taking identity into your own hands.

This sounds like a fantastic novel and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. Can we take a minute or two to admire how beautiful this cover is? Why must it be such a long wait until I can get my hands on this beauty!!
