Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday

Happy Monday everyone! How has your weekend been? Mine has been really nice since the in-ground pool here is now finished! Even my two boys (7 and almost 2) love being in the pool. They can be shivering and have purple lips, yet still, fight me when I tell them we have to get out. I can’t blame them though. I love being in the pool. It is great having a pool here at my disposal all day, every day. If I put flippers on that counts as mermaid research right?

So…I have not been slacking on my book writing, simply researching. I do need to start writing, I am still planning. I have a few chapters written, I just haven’t done anymore lately. At this rate, it will take forever. Whoever said writing a book is easy lied…wait, I am not sure anyone ever said that. It is difficult, especially when you are a parent. I only have spare time when my kids go to bed and by then, I just want to sit and read after writing a blog post. I will one day have a nice finished copy, but for now, I will stop rambling and move onto what you are all really here for.

Now…being Monday, you all know that means Goodreads Monday! This weekly event is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. To take part, simply choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR (To Be Read) list and show it off.

Now onto the good part, yet another book from my Goodreads to read shelf…which is always growing larger with each Goodreads Monday post that I read. I am serious, every Monday my TBR list grows by about 5 books. Why are there so many great books and so little reading time?

Presented by James Patterson’s new children’s imprint, this deliciously creepy horror novel has a storyline inspired by the Ripper murders and an unexpected, blood-chilling conclusion…

Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

The story’s shocking twists and turns, augmented with real, sinister period photos, will make this dazzling, #1 New York Times bestselling debut from author Kerri Maniscalco impossible to forget.

I have been meaning to read this and am so mad I have not gotten to it yet. The third book in the series (Escaping Houdini) is being released September 18th! I am thinking of pre-ordering that one. If you pre-order, be sure to have proof and enter here to receive eight limited edition character cards!

Happy Monday! Having an in ground pools sounds so amazing right now because I am MELTING in california. I haven’t read Stalking Jack the Ripper yet, but I’ve heard good things. It seems like a bit scary book, but hopefully I can read it soon. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about it!

I dont really have a To Be Read list. I just kind find a book as I finish reading a book. If i had a list i would get depressed because I was not reading them fast enough.
