I’m sure you can tell by the title of this post that I am a part of yet another blog tour hosted by Fantastic Flying Book Club! I have to thank them again because they are the most amazing tour group I’ve worked with. They also don’t charge authors for tours which are, let’s be honest, amazing!! I am so comfortable working with them and I think I will forever remain on the review team. They are by far the best review company I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
So…the book I am talking about today is one that I have been anticipating for a while now, ever since I reviewed the first book! The Crow Rider by Kalyn Jspehson….I’ve been waiting to read this and I’ve tried to be patient. Check out my review of the first book here.
Don’t forget to check out all the other great posts for the tour here.

But so many obstacles stand in her way. Res excels at his training, until he loses control of his magic, harming Thia in the process. She is also pursued by Prince Ericen, heir to the Illucian throne, and the one person she can’t trust but can’t seem to stay away from.
As the rebel group prepares for war, Res’s magic grows more unstable. Thia has to decide if she can rely on herself and their bond enough to lead the rebellion and become the crow rider she was meant to be.
I am still impressed with the cover. I knew I would love the artwork since I loved the ones for the first book. Doesn’t this sound great?! If you’ve read the first book, then you absolutely need to get a copy of this one.
About the Author
Review
I loved the relationships between the character. I am not a huge romance person but I truly loved the romance in the first novel. I do feel that the romance in this book was poorly done. It felt rushed and almost forcefully finished. I felt that the author was forcing a distance between that without truly showing us that or how it happened. I wanted to see betrayal, some hidden agenda…something more that just wasn’t there.
I did feel that this book was a little rushed overall, there was a sense of urgency and action missing that I so loved in the first book. I felt very underwhelmed with the second book compared to the first. It wasn’t awful…I did enjoy the alliance, the battle, etc. I loved the first book so much and this was enjoyable to read. It just felt like it was too rushed and fell a little flat for me.
