Freebie Friday

Freebie Friday

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and what better way to start that with than a free book! Everyone loves books but free books are even better. For some reason, I always seem to enjoy something a little bit more when I know it was free, or I just don’t feel that obligation to like it because I didn’t have to pay for it. I don’t think I’m alone in that feeling either.

I am hoping to bring more horror books to you this month and I hope that you love them! I love horror, but too often when I pick up a young adult horror, it ends up being more of a thriller. I love Stephen King and I know there are some really good horror books out in the world, we just need to find them. So, let’s get to the book, shall we?

Don’t talk to strangers.
Faced with his parents’ divorce, eleven-year-old Lucas runs away from his house with the hope that his family will get back together to find him. On his way walking through the empty streets, he is picked up by a mysterious woman who offers to take care of him and provide him with a loving family.
The boy then wakes up in shackles, confined to a bed in a decrepit house in the middle of nowhere and will have to face his deepest fears in order to survive in his new home.
Join Lucas in a desperate attempt to get back to his family in Madhouse, the first published book from horror-thriller author Miguel Estrada.

The beginning of that summary makes my heart hurt for Lucas and I haven’t even read the book yet. I can almost feel the fear that he feels and the sadness about his parent’s relationship. I need to know what fears this boy has to face…what does he see in that house? Who is that woman who picked him up? Soo…many questions.

The best thing about this book is that it is a short read. I am going to try to read it this weekend! I would love to hear what you think of this novel. If you have suggestions for really scary books, drop the links below. I need more good horror in my life.

Is this something you would read or is horror, not your thing? Let me know below! What was the scariest book you’ve ever read?
