Welcome back to Freebie Friday! I hope that you have all had a wonderful week. Mine has been busy as usual, but on a positive note, I am starting to read This Mortal Coil!! I am beyond excited to be a part of the This Cruel Design book tour with The Fantastic Flying Book Club. Be sure to watch my blog on October 25th for a dual review post! Have you read This Mortal Coil? I have been dying to read it and am so happy that I finally have this book in my hands. I am also working on some Halloween bookmarks for an upcoming giveaway that I am collaborating with Kaleena (Reader Voracious). Be sure to watch our blogs for a great Halloween themed game to enter. Now, onto the free book of the week…
Ebooks, aside from being cheap or free have some other advantages, find some pros and cons here. Today I hope to bring you a novel that you might take a chance on. These books will be free at the time of my post, but because I am unable to see the future, I cannot promise these will stay that way. So, if you like them purchase them as soon as you can.

Something strange happens when Katana tests for her Black Belt: she stops several attackers using only her chi. Master Osaka sends her away to the Hall of the Dragon to learn to use and control her power. Soon after her arrival, a mysterious band of warriors tries to steal the Scroll of the Five Masters, which contains the key to immortality. Katana learns that they are the Arashi, a secret society that preserves the dark art of dim mak.
It was believed that knowledge of the art’s highest power, the death touch, was taken to the grave by its ancient master. But now a new dim mak master has risen, commanding a power even more terrifying than the death touch—and he will stop at nothing to obtain the Scroll of the Five Masters. In the end, it’s up to Katana to confront this new enemy and uncover the shocking truth of his identity.
Katana Shodan is the first book in an epic YA fantasy series. If you like coming of age stories in a modern urban fantasy setting, full of action and adventure, mystery and magic, then the Katana books will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more!
I was hooked when I began reading about Asian culture in the description. I love Asian culture and the new representation in novels is amazing! This book sounds very interesting and with good Amazon and Goodreads reviews, you can bet I downloaded it.
Speaking of Chi and a sacred scroll…How many of you enjoy the Kung Fu Panda movies?! They are so good, they make a TV show now, but I am afraid it might not come even close to being as good as the movies. And yes…I watch cartoons. I am a mother of two young boys. Besides, there is not really an age limit on children movies, just as there is no age limit on who can enjoy YA books! Now…there are more books in this series…obviously since it says “Book 1.” The second novel is $2.99 for a Kindle edition and all subsequent novels are $4.99.
Here are the other novels in this series:
Can we just take a minute to admire how stunning these covers are!! I think I need this entire series in hard copy so that I can display their beauty on my shelves. They match so well and I love the changes in color for each new novel.
