I hope that you all had a wonderful month full of reading! Did any of you participate in ARC August? I chose not to, I simply had so many other books to read that need to be done before some ARCs. I did have a good month though! The pool was put in and finished here at my in-law’s. We now have to add stone and a fence around it with a self-closing gate…because you know people forget to close them so the town now mandates them. Safety First! I think that is probably the best thing that happened this summer. What was the most exciting thing that happened to you this summer? Now that summer is over, I look forward to the fall. I love the beauty that comes with it, and all the seasons. Many people prefer one season over another but I think they all have their own caveats. The fall temperatures are perfect for hoodies and if you know me, you know I love hoodies like many women like shoes. I dress for comfort. I might walk out of my house in yoga pants, a cardigan, and mom bun…but that is who I am. Oh, I forgot to mention that I always have a book or two in tow when I go anywhere, you never know when you will have spare time to read a chapter or so.
Speaking of things I carry everywhere… I created some business cards and received them in the mail! Check these out, what do you think?
I would like to begin gaining more clients for my freelance proofreading and editing. I am relatively new to editing but I love learning and growing with authors. Yes, money for editing or proofreading a book is nice (who doesn’t like money for doing something they enjoy?!) but that is not my favorite part. I love being a part of the process. It is magical. Taking something as small as an idea and creating a story is difficult enough. Authors then have to have it polished by people such as myself, market it, etc. Creating a book is a long and tiresome process, but so worth it when it can have such profound impacts on the lives of those who pick it up and read it. Novels are more than simple words on a page and I am lucky enough to be a part of the process in bringing some of these amazing stories to the hands of eager readers such as yourself.
Well, before I go on forever, here are the books I have read and reviewed this month.
Books I have read this month
Unparalleled
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1)
Arranged (Array #1)
Vox
Mirage
To Kill a Kingdom
Books I am currently reading
I am currently reading two books, not including the beta read I am doing. Here is what I am reading at the moment.
Nightingale
At the moment, I have not been reading as much of this ARC from NetGalley. I will be though. It is an interesting story idea but I am unsure that I am fully drawn in yet.
Stars Like Fate
I was gifted a copy of this from the author in exchange for my honest review. At the moment, I am unsure how I feel about this. I really love the idea and the concept behind what is going on but there are a few things that bother me…wait for my review to find out.
Other Updates
If you follow me, you know that I have begun three new features on my blog! The first is Freebie Friday. Every Friday I post a new free book that I have found. I mean, honestly, who doesn’t like free things…especially books! Be sure to watch for that every Friday and if you would like to see something from a specific genre, leave a comment or contact me.
The second new feature on my blog is Saturday Spotlight. Every Saturday I feature a new author. I prefer to show lesser-known authors to spread the word and support them, but I would like to have anyone aboard who is interested. I first discuss a little about the author and showcase their novels (buy links included). Then comes the fun part! I do an interview, giveaway, guest post, or something similar with the author. We work back and forth figuring out what they would prefer doing, I would like it to be fun for them. I do this free of charge because I really want to thank and support authors! They are truly incredible. If you are interested in participating, please contact me.
The third and final new feature is Words from a Fox Hole. This is something entirely unique to my blog because these posts are written by my husband. He enjoys reading as well, but he loves supporting me. I asked if he would like to feature his reviews on here or simply post about his thoughts. He was more than happy to oblige. I know many of you have supportive spouses or partners but how many will go as far as writing for your blog although they despise writing?
Well, everyone, that is about it for my August wrap-up. I hope that you all enjoyed reading a little about my life and blog updates. I might not have read many books but I spent quality time with my two boys. Other parents know the pain when I say I read the same book 20 times in one night to my 2-year-old (well 2 on September 9th). But, I will read it as many times as he wants because reading is important…and I love them, there is that too!
Have you read any of these books? What have you thought? What have you read this month? How are you doing on your Goodreads challenge? Please feel free to leave any comments below, I love hearing from you!

You had a good month. I used to read alot more than I do currently. Life has gotten in the way and I could not quite my mind enough to really enjoy reading.
I do love supporting you in everything you do. As far as the words from a foxhole series I do have an idea for my next post. Since I have not read alot it wont be a review of a book but I think you and your followers will enjoy it.
Great post and ?❣
