We got a good amount of snow last week and the boys were happy about that. Do you have snow where you live? Do you actually enjoy the snow? I love how beautiful it looks when everything is coated in a blanket of white but my arthritis in my hips hates the cold. Luckily, I now keep a piece of healerite stone in each pocket and I don’t even need to take Alieve anymore! It is amazing how a stone can help someone so much.
We have soooooo many cookies to bake! My father-in-law bought a kitchen aid mixer and I am super excited to use it. I think we plan on making like 5 different types of cookies. Oh man, my waist-line will not be happy but the kids will! Besides, they need cookies to set out for Santa. We also leave carrots for the reindeer. I remember, as a kid, my dad tried to tell my Santa like Diet Pepsi more than milk. I laughed so hard because I knew that was a big fat lie!
I have to still go through their gifts and count them so I can get them all wrapped up. Then I need to buy stocking stuffers yet. Some staples are the lifesaver book and Terry’s chocolate orange. Is there something that you just must-have every holiday season?
Alright…how about we stop talking about candy and food. Instead, let’s talk about another book I’d like to read. Maybe you’d like to read it or already have.

Sixteen-year-old Talia was born to a life of certainty and luxury, destined to become Empress of half the world. But when an ambitious rival seizes power, she and her mother are banished to a nowhere province on the far edge of the Northern Sea.
It is here, in the drafty halls of the Ruen-Dahr, that Talia discovers family secrets, a melancholy boy with a troubling vision of her future, and a relic that holds the power of an ancient Star. On these shores, the eerie melody of the sea is stronger than ever, revealing long-forgotten tales of the Goddess Rahn. The more dark truths that Talia unravels about the gods’ history–and her own–the more the waves call to her, and it may be her destiny to answer.
This book has been out a while now and I’m sure many of you have already read it. I haven’t… Honestly, I never thought about reading it until I read the synopsis for the second book that is coming out soon. It sounded great until I saw it was book number two. Of course, I had to see what book one was about. It sounds interesting. From the cover, I would not typically pick this up but it sounds good!
Have you read this book? If so, what did you think? I’d love to see your reviews so post the links below. If you haven’t read this, would you?
