Hello everyone!! Welcome back to my first official post since I’ve been back from my hiatus. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.
Before we get to the book, let’s talk about a little about what’s been going on. This weekend we put up our Christmas tree! I might be aware that I am Pagan and I will celebrate Yule somehow, but that doesn’t mean I won’t celebrate Christmas with my kids. The majority of Christmas traditions are pagan anyway, especially the idea of bringing a tree inside…take a look at where that originated…paganism. But, I’m not here to talk about that!
We put up our tree and I think I need to make some cookies this week. What is your favorite cookie and is there a story behind it? What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? We always opened one gift on Christmas Eve. It had to be something we could use that night and couldn’t be a pair of socks…my sister and I added that last part when we were young.
Now, on to the book for this Goodreads Monday post! Today I picked a book I do not yet own but am very much excited to buy when I can afford it. I love Cassandra Clare and am really excited to read her newest novel! The only downside of this tag every week is that I am always adding to my TBR. I see a down the TBR hole post series in the future! So while I try to avoid adding to mine, let’s add to yours though…huh? Here is today’s Goodread’s Monday post!

Chain of Gold is the first novel in a new trilogy that stars the Shadowhunters of Edwardian London.
Welcome to Edwardian London, a time of electric lights and long shadows, the celebration of artistic beauty and the wild pursuit of pleasure, with demons waiting in the dark. For years there has been peace in the Shadowhunter world. James and Lucie Herondale, children of the famous Will and Tessa, have grown up in an idyll with their loving friends and family, listening to stories of good defeating evil and love conquering all. But everything changes when the Blackthorn and Carstairs families come to London…and so does a remorseless and inescapable plague.
James Herondale longs for a great love, and thinks he has found it in the beautiful, mysterious Grace Blackthorn. Cordelia Carstairs is desperate to become a hero, save her family from ruin, and keep her secret love for James hidden. When disaster strikes the Shadowhunters, James, Cordelia and their friends are plunged into a wild adventure which will reveal dark and incredible powers, and the true cruel price of being a hero…and falling in love.
I love all her Cassandra’s books. The best part of Bookcon 2018 was meeting her! I was so nervous and the entire time in line I kept saying “My name is Cassandra, her name is Cassandra. She created Will and I have my Will plushie.” I was so excited, that was the one author I knew I had to meet there.
So, naturally, when I heard about this book a while back, I knew that I had to get a copy. Sadly I have not heard anything about ARCs yet being as it is so far from the release. However, when it does come out I will so be getting my hands on a copy of the book one way or another.
Have you read this or any other books by Cassandra Clare? Which ones? Did you enjoy them? Feel free to post links to your reviews below. I would love to see what you thought about the books. Pssst…I’ll comment on any posts that you leave the link for below as well.
