I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I cannot believe it is almost already the middle of June. The year seems to be flying by. My older son is already almost out of school for the summer. Near the end of the month I go back to see my surgeon and determine if there is enough bone growth in my hip for me to begin puttin weight on it. I really hope I can. I would love to be off crutches and home with my husband and boys, not that I do not love staying with my in-laws…it just isn’t my home.
Well, being Monday, you all know that means Goodreads Monday! This weekly event is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. To take part, simply choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR (To Be Read) list and show it off.
Now onto the good part, yet another book from my Goodreads to read shelf…which is always growing larger with each Goodreads Monday post that I read. Maybe one day I will eventually do a down the TBR hole post. Who knows…anyway, let’s continue.

Each generation, a competition is held to find the next empress of Honoku. The rules are simple. Survive the palace’s enchanted seasonal rooms. Conquer Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Marry the prince. All are eligible to compete—all except yōkai, supernatural monsters and spirits whom the human emperor is determined to enslave and destroy.Mari has spent a lifetime training to become empress. Winning should be easy. And it would be, if she weren’t hiding a dangerous secret. Mari is a yōkai with the ability to transform into a terrifying monster. If discovered, her life will be forfeit. As she struggles to keep her true identity hidden, Mari’s fate collides with that of Taro, the prince who has no desire to inherit the imperial throne, and Akira, a half-human, half-yōkai outcast.
I first found this book on Netgalleyand it did not have a cover yet. The blurb has sucked me in and I knew I had to get my hands on this book. This past week, the cover was revealed and I can say that it is beautiful. I cannot get over how excited I am for this novel! I am hoping to recieve an ARC. The reviews so far on Goodreads are all wonderful. I am looking forward to this novel.
